I had a few larger bits left over from my spring Benecia Dress with the Art Gallery Print and I just couldn’t bear to part with them! I knew I wanted to make some thing for the little one and thankfully I had already tested this pattern and it requires so little fabric because she’s so small still!

Nala is wearing the Aaronica Romper from Made for Mermaids! This pattern is so incredibly adorable! I love the cross back feature the most in this pattern. I really am impressed with how well this garment fits on her. It has loads of options that include Dress length, sleeve length variations and an option for pants. It’s even available in adult sizing as well! I’m really looking forward to making an adult size version of this pattern for sure.

And when she put this on, she immediately was so amazed by the little birds on this beautiful fabric! My daughter is obsessed with birds! She gave absolutely no issues in taking pictures of this new make! I mean, look at those poses!

Overall, this romper was very quick to whip up because it is tiny! It does have a fair bit of knit binding to attach though. Normally, I avoid knit binding like crazy but it’s not an issue with Cotton Lycra from Art Gallery! The fabric is really stable and pleasant for binding! I think I was able to get my thread tension in a place where my regular sewing machine gave me no puckering! The finish is beautiful!

I hope I have some more knit scraps large enough to make some more cute little summer garments for Nala, as well!
