He was the most beautiful man in Olympus…and if I wasn’t careful, he was going to be my death.
*A scorchingly hot modern retelling of Psyche and Eros that’s as sinful as it is sweet.*
In the ultra-modern city of Olympus, there’s always a price to pay. Psyche Dimitriou knew she’d have to face Aphrodite’s jealous rage eventually, but she never expected her literal heart to be at stake…or for Aphrodite’s gorgeous son to be the one ordered to strike the killing blow.
Eros has no problem shedding blood. Raised to be his mother’s knife in the dark, he’s been conditioned to accept that he’s more monster than man. But when it comes time to take out his latest target…he can’t do it. Confused by his reaction to Psyche’s unexpected kindness, he does the only thing he can think of to keep her safe: he binds her to him, body and soul.
Psyche didn’t expect to find herself married to the glittering city’s most dangerous killer, but something about Eros wakens a fire inside her she’s never felt before. As lines blur and loyalties shift, Psyche realizes Eros might take her heart after all…and she’s not sure she can survive the loss.

A socialite and a hitman take a chance on love. At a party held by the Thirteen, Psyche gets photographed tending to Eros’s wounds after a job he’s completed. Despite the danger of being associated with Aphrodite’s assassin, Psyche patches Eros up when he refuses to go to a hospital. Psyche’s kindness earns her the full wrath of Aphrodite and she has ordered Eros to bring her Psyche’s heart. No one expects Eros to do just that but in the form of getting Psyche to marry him. Can these two fake it long enough to secure Psyche’s safety or will their plan fall apart under scrutiny?
I love grumpy/sunshine dynamics and Psyche was very much so the sunshine to grumpy Eros. I liked them together more than I thought I would. I think their chemistry is pretty hot but their conversations were pretty funny, as well.
Psyche was the FMC who won my heart over! I loved how cunning and calculated she was! I expected her to be so different but her scheming always had heart to it. She’s a good person with a big heart and she was so, so careful with Eros’s heart. Everyone knows about his reputation but Psyche is the only person who doesn’t judge him for it.
Eros… Needed a hug. And I’m prepared to give it to him! I love a bad guy who has only one weakness—his lady! He was so weak for her! I loved seeing his progression from beginning to end. I related to Eros more than I expected too and I found him to be so likable. My heart hurt for him so often in this book! But this man! He has a dirty, dirty mouth.
This book was spicy, spicy and I’m not mad about it at all! I’m contemplating adding more mirrors to my house after reading this one! That epilogue just about killed me! I’m so happy for them! I cried real tears because I’m emotional but I loved this story from beginning to end. I would recommend this book to spicy book fans and those who love Greek Myth retellings!
Spice Rating
4/5 🌶🌶🌶🌶
It’s pretty heavy with scenes that are explicit after about 50% of the book. I would definitely deem this one smutty!
