Secret Obsession is not a secret obsession of mine! I’m very obsessed! I’ll recommend this book to anyone who will listen. Miles picks up the broken pieces of Willow after his brother publicly dumps her. They are bound to each other by a horrible crime and that’s exactly how Miles wants it. Willow is lost and the only time her life appears somewhat functional again is because Miles is in charge of things. Is Miles the same jerk that his brother is or can he show her that at his mercy is the best thing for her.
Miles is the most vicious golden retriever and I’m absolutely here for it! Tall, chiseled, sex hair and he’s usually bleeding or has a black eye… I love Miles Whiteshaw. He’s unhinged, manipulative, jealous and possessive over Willow. I loved how passionate and ruthless he was to get what he wants. And Miles wants Willow. He wants her bad. The way that this man thought about Willow and his narrative about her was beautiful. I loved his love for her. Miles puts in the time to truly understand Willow and what she’s going through. The flashbacks from Miles’s perspective, were the kind of vignettes that you would see in any other contemporary romance, which made this dark romance so different from others I’ve read. I felt like I was reading the delicious, darker version of a sweet little rom-com and it was incredible! I swoon over Miles and how he treated Willow… when he was being nice and when he wasn’t but it was the meticulous planning that Miles did for her that really did me in. We love time management skills and preparation! That was hot for me. Can not forget this man’s dirty talk. So much good girl, my heart burst again. I will never forget. Either way Team Miles!
The number of times my heart broke for Willow was too many to count. I loved her, and it hurt my feelings when something bad happened to her. Willow is so funny and I just loved her personality loads. She had some rough times there but Willow is also a fighter! She has claws and she will use them though I like her better with Miles, so she doesn’t have to. I loved that she pursues her dream with a huge push from him and that her life is just better with him in it. Even when he really was just a bully. I didn’t blame her for waiting to acknowledge her love for him after everything she’s experienced with his brother. However, I was screaming at her by the end to just take this man because they were perfect together.
S. Massery has written some of my favorite bully romances and this book did not disappoint! It was dark but there was so much sweetness between this couple. Their HEA was amazing and well deserved! I honestly cannot wait to read this book again!
I loved the main characters but I liked the side characters too! Many of them have their own books so those who have read the other books in this series will definitely enjoy the cameos.
I highly recommend this book to all my dark romance readers and my hockey romance lovers who want to take a little trip to the dark side. This is book 3 in the series but it can be read as a complete standalone. Thank you to the author and Grey’s Promo for an advanced copy of this book!

There are many open door scenes. There is a fair bit of kink in this book. The plot does stand up to the smut though!
