Blurb

She’s a good girl, but she’s falling for the wrong man.

Broken down by her emotionally neglectful ex, all Charlie Underwood wants is someone to tell her she’s good enough. Then she stumbles into a new job with a boss who brings her to her knees―literally.

As an owner of the Salacious Players’ Club, Emerson Grant knows exactly what he wants and isn’t shy about his particular tastes. But when he mistakes Charlie for a candidate to be his new submissive instead of his son’s ex-girlfriend, he immediately tries to correct the situation. He offers Charlie a job as his secretary and nothing more…

Yet now that Charlie has seen a glimpse of what can happen when she’s honest about what she wants, she makes it clear that all she wants is Emerson. He might be twice her age and her ex-boyfriend’s dad, but he’s also the only man who can give her everything she desires.

How far will she go to hear his approval?

Overall Rating

5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You are a smart, beautiful, confident woman. You don’t need me to tell you what you want. I want to hear it from you. You deserve pleasure just as much as I do, and trust me, I want nothing more than to hear you utter the dirtiest words, and then I want to do whatever it is you say. So say it.”

Y’all knew a Good Girl like me would loooooove Praise and I fucking loooooooooooooved this book! 🥰🫶🏽 I’m in such a slump after this one. Who could possibly compare to Emerson?! Who could possibly compare to Charlie?! 🥹

It’s the sexual empowerment of this book that I will never get over! I think this quote perfectly shows why Emerson is my favorite now🤭🤗

I loved both main characters and their struggles to be in this relationship that is just at a base level very taboo. All of it, actually! I loved this book the whole way through.

Emerson is perfect! He is perfection. I just… phew! Sara Cate!!! You always do this to me! I was scared that I would hate Beau after loving him so much in Mercy but I think I love him even more now that I see how much he grew! But these Grant men?!! What the hell is it about them?! I’m obsessed with them both omfg. 😍🔥🔥

I highly recommend this story if you haven’t read it. It’s spicy but there are some larger topics discussed and I enjoyed the dynamic between the main characters. Let me know your thoughts if you give this one a go!

Spice Rating

There are several open door scenes with this taboo relationship. Also, the presence of heavy praise kink.

“And suddenly, there is no hesitation. The words just travel effortlessly across the table straight from his lips to my ears. “Ms. Underwood, you looked exquisite on your knees.”

“Thinking what we like is abnormal is the one thing we all seem to have in common.”

“If I tell Charlotte she most likely has a strong praise kink, she’ll share it with other people. Someday, it could be another man whispering all the dirty things I want to tell her, like how well she swallows his cock or how beautiful she looks while he pumps into her. It’s selfish of me, especially considering it can never be me doing and saying those things, and it would only benefit her in the future to know this about herself, but I want to hold onto it for just a little while longer.”

“She’s too perfect to ignore and too forbidden to be mine.”

“What is there to be ashamed of? Everyone does it. Everyone enjoys it. What a waste of a good life to pretend you don’t.”

““You’re such a good girl, Charlotte.” My shoulders relax, seeming to melt down at my sides as I gaze up at him, those beautiful words washing over me like warm water. Suddenly, I’m all gooey and compliant, like that one little phrase put me in a trance. He could literally do anything to me in this state.”

“More than anything, I want his attention. I want to live in this world with him and I want him to be my guide—not just for one night. I want to be the only woman on his arm…to be his.”

“I’ve never had a desire to be claimed before, but suddenly, it’s like I need the world to know I belong to Emerson Grant.”

“You made me very proud today. And you are more than enough. You are perfect.”

“Dear God, please let this be the only man I fuck for the rest of my life because there’s not a chance in Hell anyone else could ever top that.”

“Because you are mine, Charlotte. And I don’t appreciate when anyone talks badly about something that is mine. Do you think I have bad taste?”

“I’m addicted to you… You were made for me, Charlotte. You’re mine, and I never want to let you go. Do you understand me? I’d fuck you forever if I could.”

“You’re always a good girl.”

“Did he really make you change or did he let you be yourself?”
