Look but don’t touch…
From the night she showed up at my bar with a fake ID, I kicked her out. On her birthday, the following week, she showed up again. Except this time, she was demanding a job. Willing to do whatever it took to get it.
Against my better judgment, she got her, but I’m not going to make it easy on her. Neither are the guys at my bar.
I have two choices: Pretend she’s mine to protect her. Or deal with the consequences when her five older, overprotective brothers find out what their little sister is up to.
It’s going to be hell on me.
Because I can’t stay away from her.
Here is the potentially sensitive content I observed while reading this:
- Car accident
- Death of a parent
- Domestic Abuse
- Gun violence
- Sexual assault
- Sexually Explicit Scenes

I devoured Tempting Enemy! This book was so easy to get tangled up in! I loved both MCs from the beginning! Hayes is a rough and rugged club owner and completely calm with a gun pointed to someone’s head. Haven is cheer captain and too precious for his world. She wants in but he can’t let her. Their lives are too different. Despite everything, they are drawn to each other. There’s tension between them thick enough to choke on 🤭 Something connects them more than Haven knows though…
This book is such an emotional read for me! I was giddy, I shuddered, I was crying my eyes out, I was mad, I was all over the place! Just know that I was extremely invested in this story! The banter and their push and pull, it was just what I wanted!
I loved how Haven fought for her independence and to make the choices she wanted fur he life regardless of what her older brothers wanted. She was strong willed and never backed down from a challenge, even if that challenge was Hayes.
Hayes. Wow. I’m obsessed. He was protective but layered, deep is where he buried all his emotions. Haven forces him to se how much he wants her and she doesn’t let him intimidate her. I could not get enough of how affectionate he was with “Peach”! He does everything he can to keep Haven safe from his life and his family. Yes, he can be sweet but when he was… 🥵 spicy!!!! We was SPICY! Demanding and insatiable, Hayes was never opposed to throwing Haven over his shoulder and letting her know who was in charge.
They call M Robinson the Queen of Angst 🖤 A crown well deserved! I recommend this book and am fully committed for the full series now! Read this book if you love angst-filled spicy romance books!
But of a slow burn but the scenes are mostly open door but t. There is a lot of sexual language between scenes, as well.

“I’m going to do what I do best.”
“Piss him off.”
“Girlfriend seems so juvenile for what you are to me, Haven.”
“Is that what you want? For me to let you in? Where exactly is that? Huh? My bed? My cock? Tell me, sweetheart. What part of my fucked-up life would you like me to let you in on?” I never expected her to place her hand over my heart. Her delicate touch burned my skin. “What about here, Hayes? How do I get in there?”
“I can’t stop thinking about you, Haven. Every time I touch you, hear you, or I’m anywhere near you, I want more. I want it all. There’s this pull you have on me and it doesn’t make any fucking sense because we come from two completely different worlds.”
“Not so vocal when my mouth is near your pussy. Huh, Peach?”
“It’s just going to make it that much harder when you have to say goodbye to me.”
